Farm & Fiber Knits magazine

GOAL: Design a print magazine for the Farm & Fiber Knits community, dedicated to grassroots knitting, natural fibers, local farms, and the people and stories behind beautiful, sustainable handknits.

ROLE: Art direction & design of print magazine, print and digital ads, other promotional assets

The Farm & Fiber Knits brand and online content community was launched in 2023 by craft company Long Thread Media. The brand next wanted to expand into a print magazine to provide a premium, tangible, and authentic content experience for their audience. They desired an image-heavy, travelogue-style publication that evoked a sense of place and showcased knitting stories with an organic and earthy, but also simple and streamlined, vibe.

Previously established brand assets included a logo, fonts, colors, website design, initial print advertising, and sample photography. I referenced and built upon these foundations to make sure the magazine design fit the existing brand parameters.


Research & Moodboard

I started with competitor research and exploring other references in the craft, travel, arts & leisure industries. My initial moodboard focuses on natural colors, organic textures, clean lines, and vibrant photography.

Editorial requested a natural, rustic outdoorsy vibe and a trendy white border.
